P
edra Majore is located in the heart of Gallura, on the “Via delle Conche”, but it is also just a few kilometers from the sea. The company can rely on about 15 hectares of vineyard, directly managed by in-house personnel, assisted by experts from the Faculty of Agriculture of Sassari, with whom continuous vineyard experiments are carried out.
Furthermore, there are several alliances with other companies in the area, aimed at improving the quality of the supply chain and exchanging production specializations. The recently modernized processing facility is designed for the production of approximately 5,000 hectoliters of wine, some of which rest in stainless steel tanks, while others are slowly refined and matured in barriques.
THE PRODUCTION The company's production potential is largely utilized for the creation of Pedra Majore wines; the remaining portion is sought after by some island producers to contribute to the vinification of other high-quality local wine products. Recently, 2 hectares of vineyard have been planted with Vermentino di Gallura using the espalier system. This new vineyard is located a short distance from the village of Monti, in a place that is unique due to its exposure and surrounding environment.
THE TERRITORY It is difficult to describe the territory in which the company is immersed without having seen it. However, one can attempt to do so by saying that it is characterized by the "strong" presence of at least three elements: the granite (of the Conche), the vegetation, with a particularly pleasant combination of cork trees, Mediterranean scrub, and cultivated hills, and the sea of the northeastern coast of Sardinia just a few kilometers away.
